Maue Music Studios is currently beginning our 13th year of teaching music to students in Platte County, Wyoming! Kaylah Maue, the studio owner and founder, began teaching from her parents basement with just 1 student in the “Driskell String Studio” while she was attending The University of Wyoming pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 2007. Each year the studio grew as Kaylah’s zeal for teaching started to spread by word-of-mouth. In 2011 Kaylah graduated with her Music Education degree and in 2013 Kaylah married Andrew Maue. At that point the studio had around 25 students, and she just kept teaching from their home. By 2015 the studio had grown to over 40 students still coming to the Maue’s house for lessons each week, so it was finally time for a change! That summer the studio moved into a commercial space in downtown Wheatland and Kaylah asked a guitar teacher and a piano teacher to join her so that Wheatland students could come to one place for all of their out-of-school-music-training needs, and thus, Maue Music Studios was born. Within 2 years of moving into our first commercial space we had over 100 students, multiple teachers on a wide variety of instruments, and we began to see the need for a youth orchestra in Platte County. So, in 2017 the Eastern Wyoming Youth Orchestra was born with a full instrumentation of violin, viola, cello, and bass. Now, in 2019, Maue Music Studios has started a second branch of the studio in Cheyenne, Wyoming and is growing every day.
We are so grateful to all of the people along the way that have helped make this dream a reality, but we are especially grateful for the wonderful families that make up our #musicfam! Without our students and the support of our community we wouldn't be what we are today, so THANK YOU for considering joining our #musicfam! We are excited to have you here with us!
